Can I order batteries under my own brand?
Yes. Private label / OEM manufacturing is our core business. We currently manufacture under 50+ international brand labels. The customization process covers: label design (your brand logo, colors, and layout), packaging (custom cartons with your brand design), terminal configuration (type and polarity per your market), capacity tuning within the physical case dimensions, handle design and color, warranty cards and user manuals in your language, and certificate of analysis documentation under your brand name. Do you sell directly to consumers?
No. Chengguang Energy is a factory that exclusively supplies businesses: distributors, importers, wholesalers, retail chains, automotive parts brands, and private label companies. We do not sell directly to end consumers or retail customers.
Do you provide product samples?
Yes. We ship product samples for evaluation and testing. Sample terms: samples are charged at factory cost + freight; random selection from production inventory (not hand-picked); accompanied by test reports (CCA, capacity, voltage, visual inspection); sample lead time 2–4 weeks including international shipping. What testing does each battery undergo before shipment?
Every battery undergoes 100% testing: CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) per relevant standard (JIS/SAE/EN), open circuit voltage (12.6V minimum for a fully charged battery), visual inspection (case integrity, terminal alignment, label quality), and terminal torque verification. Batch-level testing includes: 20-hour capacity (C20) test, reserve capacity (RC) test, charge acceptance test, water consumption test (for flooded batteries), vibration resistance test (per IEC 60068), and high-temperature endurance (60°C / 140°F). Test reports are provided with every shipment.
What is the typical warranty period?

Warranty claims follow a documented process: claim notification → evidence submission (photos, batch numbers, test results) → our quality team investigation → resolution (credit note, replacement, or refund). Automotive lead-acid batteries are classified as Dangerous Goods Class 8 (UN 2794). We handle all DG-compliant packaging and documentation. What is the difference between SLI, EFB, and AGM batteries?
SLI (Starting, Lighting, Ignition) is the standard flooded battery for conventional vehicles. EFB (Enhanced Flooded Battery) adds carbon additives and reinforced separators for 2x the cycle life of SLI—suitable for entry-level start-stop vehicles. How do I select the right battery for my market?
Battery selection depends on five factors: (1) vehicle types in your market and their OEM battery specifications; (2) climate—cold markets prioritize CCA, hot markets prioritize capacity and heat tolerance; (3) market segment—budget, mid-range, or premium; (4) local standards—JIS (Asia/Africa), DIN (Europe/Middle East), BCI (Americas); and (5) electrical load—newer vehicles with infotainment, start-stop, and ADAS require higher capacity and AGM/EFB technology. What is CCA and why are there different CCA ratings?
CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) measures a battery’s ability to start an engine in cold temperatures by delivering current for 30 seconds at −18°C while maintaining at least 7.2V. Different standards (SAE, EN, DIN, JIS) use slightly different test protocols and produce different values for the same battery. Can I use a standard SLI battery in a start-stop vehicle?
No. Installing a standard SLI battery in a vehicle designed for AGM or EFB will result in premature failure—typically within 3–6 months. Start-stop vehicles cycle the battery 20–50 times per day versus once or twice for conventional vehicles. Standard SLI batteries are not designed for this duty cycle. How should batteries be stored before sale?
Proper storage is essential for battery longevity and customer satisfaction: store in a cool, dry environment (15–25°C / 59–77°F ideal); keep batteries fully charged (12.6V+ open circuit voltage); recharge every 3 months (flooded) or 6 months (AGM) if not sold; avoid direct sunlight and temperatures above 40°C (104°F); never stack batteries more than 3 layers high; never store in a discharged state—sulfation begins immediately and becomes irreversible after 48–72 hours; rotate stock (first-in, first-out) to minimize shelf time.
