Centro de Datos Técnicos de Chengguang Energy

The Technical Data Center provides in-depth product specifications, battery technology explanations, and cross-reference guides for international battery importers and distributors. All data is sourced from production specifications validated under our IATF 16949 quality management system.

1. Battery Technology Comparison

Understanding battery technologies is essential for sourcing the right products for your target market. The table below compares the four battery types manufactured at our 200,000 m² Hebei facility.

2. Global Battery Standards & Cross-Reference

Battery standards determine physical dimensions, terminal positions, and performance test methods. Importers must match the standard to the vehicle fleet in their target market.

Key insight for buyers: CCA values are not directly comparable across standards. A battery rated 500 CCA (SAE) will test approximately 470 CCA (EN) and 420 CCA (JIS) due to different test protocols. Always ask your supplier which standard their CCA ratings follow. For detailed cross-reference help, see our JIS vs DIN standards guide.

3. How to Read Battery Specifications

CCA (amperios de arranque en frío)

CCA measures the current (amperes) a fully charged battery can deliver for 30 seconds at −18°C (0°F) while maintaining voltage above 7.2V. Higher CCA = better cold-weather starting. Key considerations:

  • For tropical markets: CCA is less critical; focus on capacity (Ah) and heat tolerance
  • For cold/temperate markets: CCA is the primary selection criterion
  • CCA degrades 30–40% over battery life. A new 600 CCA battery may deliver only 360–420 CCA after 3 years
  • European vehicles with start-stop require minimum 600–700 CCA (EN) for reliable operation

Reserve Capacity (RC)

RC indicates how long (in minutes) a fully charged battery can deliver 25 amps at 27°C before voltage drops below 10.5V. This is your emergency buffer—critical for vehicles with high electrical loads or markets with frequent alternator failures.

Capacity (C20 / Ah)

The 20-hour capacity rating (C20) measures how much energy a battery can deliver over 20 hours at 25°C. For importers: a higher Ah rating means the battery supports more electrical accessories (air conditioning, infotainment, lighting) for longer engine-off periods.

RatingWhat It MeasuresTypical Range (JIS N70)Why Importers Should Care
CCACold start power450 – 650 ACritical for cold/temperate climate markets
RCEmergency runtime without alternator80 – 130 minCritical for developing markets with older vehicles
C20 (Ah)Total energy storage capacity60 – 90 AhCritical for vehicles with extensive electronics/accessories

4. Terminal Configurations

Terminal type and polarity are the most common causes of incorrect battery orders. Our products use the following terminal types:

Terminal CodeDescriptionPositive ØNegative ØUsed In
AJIS standard large post14.7 mm (+)13.0 mm (−)JIS batteries N50–N200
DJIS standard small post12.5 mm (+)11.0 mm (−)JIS batteries N40–N50
A (Euro)European conical (T1)19.5 mm (+)17.9 mm (−)DIN batteries all models

Polarity / Layout

Polarity is defined by the positive terminal position when viewing the battery from the front (label facing you):

CodePositive Terminal PositionCommon In
0 / RRight-hand sideJIS batteries (Japanese vehicles)
1 / LLeft-hand sideDIN batteries (European vehicles)

⚠️ Critical ordering note: Using a battery with incorrect polarity can cause severe electrical damage to a vehicle. Always confirm polarity before placing orders. If in doubt, send us photos of the original battery installed in representative vehicles—our technical team will identify the correct configuration.

5. Hold-Down Systems
